Bee

BUZZ! goes the bee,
Hour after hour,
BUZZ! goes the bee
From flower to flower.

Sucking out the nectar
Flying it home.
Storing up the nectar
In the honeycomb

BUZZ! goes the bee,
Making honey so sweet.
Bee makes the honey
That I love to eat!

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.....
What do you suppose
A bee sat on my nose
What do you think
He gave me a wink
He said, "I beg your pardon
I thought you were the garden."

Five Little Bees

One little bee blew and flew.
He met a friend, and that made two.

Two little bees, busy as could be--
Along came another and that made three.

Three little bees, wanted one more,
Found one soon and that made four.

Four little bees, going to the hive.
Spied their little brother, and that made five.

Five little bees working every hour--
Buzz away, bees, and find another flower.

Five Busy Bees

Five busy bees on a lovely spring day.
This one said, "Let's fly away."
This one said "We'll drink some nectar sweet."
This one said, "Let's get pollen on our feet."
This one said "And then we'll make some honey."
This one said "Good thing it's warm and sunny."
So the five busy bees went flying along
Singing a happy honeybee song.
Bzzzzzzzzzz!

The Swarm of Bees

One little honeybee by my window flew;
Soon came another - then there were two.
Two happy honeybees in the appletree;
One more bee came buzzing up - then there were three.
Three busy honeybees starting to explore
Another bee came to help - then there were four.
Four laden honeybees flying to the hive;
They were joined by one more bee - then there were five.
Five tired honeybees with the others mix;
Now there's a swarm of them - a hundred times six.

BUZZZZZZZ
When you hear a bumblebee,
It may sound like a grumblebee
But it is just a busy bee--
A buzzy, fuzzy, busy bee.

Bees

There wouldn't be sunflowers,
Wouldn't be peas,
Wouldn't be apples,
On apple trees
If it weren't for fuzzy old,
Buzzy old bees
Dusting pollen off their knees.

The Bees Go Buzzing
Tune: When Johnny Comes Marching Home

The bees go buzzing one by one.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing one by one.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing one by one.
Watching bees is lots of fun,
So let’s all go buzzing
One by one by one.

The bees go buzzing two by two.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing two by two.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing two by two.
Worker bees have lots to do,
So let’s all go buzzing
Two by two by two.

The bees go buzzing three by three.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing three by three.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing three by three.
The bees are buzzing by the tree,
So let’s all go buzzing
Three by three by three.

The bees go buzzing four by four.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing four by four.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing four by four.
Now they’re buzzing through the door,
So let’s all go buzzing
Four by four by four.

The bees go buzzing five by five.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing five by five.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The bees go buzzing five by five.
It’s time to go back to our hive,
So let’s all go buzzing
Five by five by five.

Adapted from "The Ants Go Marching" from Mrs. Jones.
Do You Like To Buzz?
(Tune: "Do Your Ears Hang Low?")

Do you like to buzz,
Are you covered all in fuzz?
Do you call a hive a home
In the Garden where you roam?
Do you know how to make honey,
Are your stripes a little funny?
Do you like to buzz?

Bumblebee

I sat as still
as a playing-dead possum
and watched a bee
on a clover blossom,

Watched him poking
his long thin tongue
into the blossoms
pink and young,

Heard him bumble
and sort of sneeze
as pollen stuck
to his two hind knees.

I held my breath
as the bee buzzed over,
and hoped I didn't
look sweet as clover.

Bee Geometry

I'll tell you a secret
between you and me--
The bees must know geometry.

Peek in a beehive
and you will see
the six-sided shapes made by a bee.

The hexagons
you'll find inside
fit side by side by side.

I'll tell you a secret,
I think you'll agree--
The bees must know geometry.
