I do a review of colors and color words with different activities.
I Can Sing a Rainbow
by Arthur Hamilton
Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue.
I can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow, too!
Listen with your eyes,
Listen with your eyes,
And sing everything you see.
You can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow, too!
Listen to your heart,
Listen to your heart,
And sing everything you feel,
I can sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow,
Sing a rainbow, too!

Color Chant
When I say RED put your hands on your head.
When I say BLUE put your hands on your shoe.
When I say BLACK put your hands on your back.
When I say BROWN move your hands all around.
When I say GREEN wipe your face real clean.
When I say PINK just think, think, think. (tap temple with finger)
When I say PURPLE make two little circles.
When I say WHITE squeeze your fingers real tight.
When I say YELLOW wave to the fellow.
When I say TAN throw up your hands.
When I say GRAY say, "Have a nice day!"
When ORANGE is found make it big and round.

I Can Read Colors
Orange is a carrot.
Yellow is a pear.
Purple is a plum.
And brown is a bear.
Green is the grass.
Blue is the sky.
Black is a friendly cat.
And red is cherry pie.
I can read colors!

Wouldn't it be terrible? Wouldn't it be sad?
If just one single color was the color that we had?
If everything was purple? Or red? Or blue? Or green?
If yellow, pink, or orange was all that could be seen?
Can you just imagine how dull the world would be
If just one single color was all we got to see?

The Color Song
(To the tune of "This Old Man")
Red, red, red, touch your head.
Blue, blue, blue, tie your shoe.
Brown, brown, brown, touch the ground.
White, white, white, take a bite.
Black, black, black, touch your back.
Purple, purple, purple, draw a circle.
Pink, pink, pink, give a wink.
Gray, gray, gray, shout hurray!
