In January
it's so nice
while slipping on the sliding ice
to sip hot chicken soup
with rice.

Sipping once
sipping twice
sipping chicken soup
with rice.

Ice and Snow

Ice and snow,
Cold winds blow,
Hop aboard our sleigh.
Oh, what fun it is to play
Winter games today.

Ice and snow,
Cold winds blow,
Let's be on our way.
Oh, what fun it is to play
Winter games today.

"Thumbs in the thumb-place,
Fingers all together!"
This is the song
We sing in mitten-weather.
When it is cold,
It doesn't matter whether
Mittens are wool
or made of finest leather.
This is the song
We sing in mitten weather:
"Thumbs in the thumb place,
Fingers all together!"
Marie Louise Allen

Warm Mittens

I wiggle my left hand,
I wiggle my right,
inside of my mittens,
so warm and so tight.

I wiggle my pinkie.
I wiggle my thumb,
so when I make snowballs,
my hands don't get numb.

What Is It?

It's quick and it's quiet.
It's soft and it's light.
It's free ----------- you can't buy it.
It just comes in white.

It's twirly it's whirly.
It makes quite a show.
What is it ---------- in winter?
Does anyone know?

We Like Snow
(Tune: Three Blind Mice)

We like snow!
We like snow!
Out we go.
It covers the houses and fills the trees.
It's fun for sleds and it's fun for skiis.
We'll stay outdoors till our noses freeze
"Cause we like snow!

My Snowman

My snowman stood
With a smiling face
His scarf and buttons
All in place.

I snapped my fingers
Just like that---
"Of course", I said
"You need a hat!"
A cowboy hat?
A stocking cap?
A woolen cap of blue?
A tall top hat?
A hunter's cap?
Which one is right for you?

My snowman proud---
As proud can be,
His hat is perfect
Picked by me!
