Spring has certainly sprung! We have been having wonderful spring weather
with nice spring rains. Everything is so fresh and colorful! This is a picture taken
outside of our first grade back door. As it warms up even more, there will be
many more flowering plants in the garden. Students will get to help plant annual
flowers in May with the help of PTA mothers.
April is poetry month.
Our first grade class wrote spring poems following this format:
1. color
2. animal or object
3. action
4. Spring is... or a feeling about spring
Students wrote their poem (sloppy copy) and these were edited.
Some students chose a computer picture from the program Print Artist
to add to a final typed copy of their poem with teacher help.
They drew the background and added details to their pictures.
