The Floppy Scarecrow
The floppy, floppy scarecrow,
Guards his field all day.
He waves his floppy, floppy hands,
To scare the crows away!
**Repeat using floppy, floppy arms,legs,etc.
How Scary Can You Be?
How scary can you be?
You scared (insert a child's name)
But you didn't scare me!
Scarecrow standing in the field
On a bright and sunny day
Don't forget to do your job
Scare the hungry crows away!
The scarecrow stands
With hanging hands,
Beside the farmer's stile.
He scares the jay and crow away.
With just a painted smile.
Scarecrow, scarecrow, what do you see,
Alone at night by the old oak tree?
A ghost and a jack-o-lantern,
That's what he sees,
Alone at night by the old oak tree.
***Repeat, substituting other Halloween
words for ghost, pumpkin
The Scarecrow Song
I'm a raggle-taggle scarecrow
And to a stick I'm tied
I'm the guardian of the garden
A job I do with pride!
My jeans are torn and tattered
My body stuffed with hay
I flip and flop and flap around
And scare the crows away!
Five Stuffed Scarecrows
Five Stuffed Scarecrows in the corn rows,
The first one said, "Go away, crows!"
The second one said, "I am very small,"
The third one said, "I am standing tall."
The fourth one said, "On my head I wear a hat."
The fifth one said, By my feet runs a cat."
Five stuffed scarecrows in the corn rows,
Moving left and right as the autumn wind blows.
Five Little Scarecrows
Five little scarecrows
by the old barn door,
One went home and then there were four.
Four little scarecrows
by the old oak tree
One went home and then there were three
Three little scarecrows
with nothing to do,
One went home and then there were two.
Two little scarecrows
out in the sun,
One went home and then there was one.
One little scarecrow all alone through the day,
He scared the crows and they all flew away.
(tune: Twinkle, Twinkle)
Scarecrow, scarecrow turn around.
Scarecrow, scarecrow touch the ground.
Stand up tall and blink your eyes.
Raise your hands up to the sky.
Clap your hands, then tap your knees.
Turn around and tap your feet.
Scarecrow, scarecrow touch your toes.
Scarecrow, scarecrow tap your nose.
Swing your arms so very slow,
Now real fast to scare the crows!
Touch your head, jump up and down.
Now sit down without a sound.
Two Little Crows
Two little crows
All dressed in black
One named Jimmy
The other one, Jack.
All day long
The corn they would eat
In Old McDonald's
Field so neat.
They ate that corn
Until one day,
Mac got a scarecrow
And shooed them away!
There went Jimmy!
There went Jack!
They flew right off
And never came back!

The most famous "Scarecrow" from the Wizard of Oz
If I only had ...
... a "Brain"!
I could while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head, I'd be scratchin'
While my thoughts were busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
I'd unravel ev'ry riddle
For any individ'le
In trouble or in pain
With the thoughts you'd be thinkin'
You could be another Lincoln,
If you only had a brain.
Oh, I could tell you why
The ocean's near the shore,
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I'd sit and think some more.
I would not be just a nuffin'
My head all full of stuffin'
My heart all full of pain.
I would dance and be merry
Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain--Whoa!
